With the development of the city infrastructure construction, all of the long-distance bus stations in Kunming have been moved out of the downtown area. At present there are mainly 5 long-distance bus stations in Kunming, they are:
- Kunming Eastern Bus Station
Popular travel destinations: Shilin (Stone Forest), Yiliang, Luoping, Luliang, Wenshan
- Kunming Southern Bus Station
Popular Travel Destinations: Yuxi, Jinghong (Xishuangbanna), Jianshui, Yuanyang
- Kunming Western Bus Station
Popular Travel Destinations: Dali, Lijiang, Shangrila, Baoshan, Mangshi, Ruili
- Kunming North-west Bus Station
Popular Destinations: Anning, Chuxiong, Lufeng, Wuding, Yuanmou
- Kunming Northern Bus Station
Popular Destinations: Qujing, Zhaotong, Dongchuan, Luquan, Xundian, Songming
